HVAC Marketing in Vancouver: SEO & Google Ads
Behnam Dehghan is a Vancouver digital marketer specialising in home services and trades businesses, and HVAC is one of the trades I know best. I help heating, cooling and heat pump companies in Metro Vancouver and across BC get more calls and booked installs from Google, without wasting budget on clicks that never turn into jobs.
This isn’t theory for me. Since 2022 I have worked as the Digital Marketing Specialist at Angels Heating and Cooling, an HVAC company in Metro Vancouver. Every day I handle seasonal heating and cooling campaigns, Google Ads, local SEO, Google Business Profile and reviews, and making sure leads are captured and followed up.
HVAC marketing is the combination of local SEO, Google Business Profile, Local Services Ads, Google Ads, a conversion-focused website and fast lead follow-up that brings homeowners to a heating and cooling company at the moment they need repair, maintenance or a new system.
What makes HVAC marketing different in BC
The HVAC market in the Lower Mainland has its own rhythm, and good marketing follows it.
- Heat pumps are a growing category. Many homeowners are replacing gas furnaces or electric baseboards with heat pumps, often motivated by efficiency, cooling during summer heat, and government rebate programs. These buyers research for weeks, compare quotes and ask many questions.
- Furnace and boiler repair is urgent. When the heat goes out on a cold, wet night, people search “furnace repair near me” or “no heat Burnaby” and call the first trustworthy result. Speed of answer often wins the job.
- Cooling demand has become real. Summer heat waves in recent years pushed many people who never owned AC to look for air conditioning or ductless mini-splits. Demand can spike suddenly when a hot spell hits.
- Maintenance is a retention engine. Annual furnace and heat pump tune-ups and service plans turn one-off customers into long-term ones, and they keep your crew busy in shoulder seasons.
- Licensing and safety matter. Gas work and refrigeration require properly certified technicians and, in BC, regulated under Technical Safety BC. Showing your credentials clearly builds trust.
The HVAC marketing system I build
Service pages for every major job type
Each core service gets its own page: furnace repair, furnace installation, heat pump installation, ductless mini-splits, air conditioning, boilers, hot water tanks if you do them, duct cleaning, and maintenance plans. Each page explains the service, typical signs a homeowner needs it, what the process looks like, brands you work with, and a clear call to action. A single “Services” page with a list of bullet points can’t rank or convert for all of these searches.
Heat pump and rebate content
Heat pump buyers want answers: will it heat my home in winter, ducted or ductless, how loud is it, what rebates might apply. I write helpful, honest pages and guides on these questions. Because rebate programs and amounts change, I keep rebate content general and point people to the official program pages, and encourage them to call you to confirm what applies to their home. This content earns trust and search visibility for the longer, higher-value install jobs.
Google Business Profile and reviews
For map searches like “HVAC company Coquitlam,” your Google Business Profile carries a lot of weight. I set the right primary and secondary categories, list each service, define service areas accurately, add real photos of installs and vans, and set up an automated review request after each completed job. Reviews that mention specific services (“installed our heat pump”) help both trust and relevance.
Local Services Ads and Google Ads
HVAC is one of the categories where Google Local Services Ads are commonly available. I help you get verified, keep your profile strong and manage lead disputes. Alongside that, I run Search campaigns split by intent:
- Emergency repair campaigns for “no heat,” “furnace not working,” and “AC repair” searches, scheduled around when your dispatch can answer.
- Installation and replacement campaigns for heat pumps, furnaces and AC, with landing pages that explain options and capture quote requests.
- Seasonal pushes: furnace tune-ups and repair in early fall, AC and heat pump cooling ahead of summer, maintenance plans in quieter months.
Negative keywords block job-seekers (“HVAC jobs,” “HVAC course”), DIY searches and parts shoppers. Learn more about my Google Ads management and local targeting.
Service-area SEO
If you serve Vancouver, Burnaby, Surrey, Richmond, the Tri-Cities and North Shore, I build service-area pages that are genuinely useful: housing types common in that area, typical systems you see there, and jobs you have done locally. See my SEO service and local SEO guide.
A website that books calls
HVAC websites need tap-to-call buttons, a short “request service” form, clear service areas, financing options if you offer them, and visible certifications. Speed matters on mobile, especially for emergency searches. I cover this in my website design service.
After-hours calls and follow-ups: where HVAC companies lose jobs
A furnace emergency at 9 p.m. goes to whoever answers. If your phone rings out, that homeowner calls the next company. My team and I set up:
- Missed-call text-back that instantly texts the caller, acknowledges the issue and offers a callback or booking link.
- AI chat and phone assistants trained on your services, service area and policies, which capture the address, system type and problem, then hand off to your on-call tech or dispatcher.
- Quote follow-up sequences for heat pump and replacement estimates, because many buyers compare several quotes and the company that follows up politely often wins.
- Maintenance reminders that bring customers back every year.
- Integrations with tools such as ServiceTitan, Jobber or Housecall Pro so leads land directly in your job management system.

Tracking what matters
I set up call tracking, GA4 and conversion tracking, with a short monthly report: what came in, what it cost, and what we’re changing next.
FAQ
What is the best marketing channel for an HVAC company?
For most HVAC companies, the strongest mix is a well-optimised Google Business Profile with steady reviews, Local Services Ads or Google Search ads for urgent repair and install searches, and SEO service pages for the long term. The right balance depends on your capacity and service area.
When should HVAC companies increase ad spend?
Usually just before and during demand peaks: early fall into winter for heating, and late spring into summer for cooling and heat pumps. I adjust budgets to your seasons and your crew’s capacity.
Can you help us sell more heat pumps?
Yes. Heat pump buyers research carefully, so I combine educational content, rebate-aware landing pages (kept general and accurate), targeted ads and quote follow-up automation.
Do you work with HVAC companies outside Vancouver?
Yes. I’m based in Greater Vancouver and also work remotely with HVAC companies across BC and Canada. See areas I serve.
How is pricing set?
Quotes are fixed and transparent and depend on scope. See how much SEO costs for context.
